Virginia financial forms for family court

Virginia's only statewide financial forms are for child support: DCSE's Financial Statement and the DC-603 notice for support hearings. For divorce, circuit court local rules set what is disclosed.

Filed with the court, or given to the other side?

The DCSE form goes back to DCSE with proof of income and is not filed in court. DC-603 is brought to the support hearing. In circuit court, local rules have income and expense statements exchanged as hearing exhibits.

What it uses
Virginia's only statewide financial forms are child-support ones: the DCSE agency Financial Statement and the JDR court's DC-603 support-hearing notice. Divorce income, expense and property disclosure is set by circuit-court local rules; for example, the Ninth Circuit's appendices supply sample income/expense, debt and property schedules.
Which form, when
No statewide selection rule. Use DCSE's Financial Statement when DCSE handles the child support case. Use DC-603 for a child or spousal support hearing in JDR district court (Va. Code § 20-60.3). In circuit-court divorce, follow the local rules; for example, Ninth Circuit Domestic Relations Local Rule 3.7 says each party prepares an income/expense statement only when a party seeks a deviation from the pendente lite formula, using 'a standard income/expense statement like the one attached as Appendix A'.
Filed or exchanged
The DCSE Financial Statement is returned to DCSE with proof of income, not filed in court (form text). DC-603 is completed and brought to the support hearing (form text, Va. Code § 20-60.3). Circuit-court income/expense statements are exhibits exchanged and presented at pendente lite hearings under local rules (e.g., Loudoun Local Rules, Rev. eff. 7/01/2026: exhibits 'must include … an income and expense statement').

This is general information, not legal advice. Forms change, so check with the court before you file.
