Filed with the court, or given to the other side?

For the affidavit, it varies by court: some have it filed and served, others only exchanged. Sworn detailed descriptive lists are filed with the court.

What it uses
The Louisiana District Court Rules (Title IV) set statewide uniform family forms by issue: the Appendix 23.0B Family Law Affidavit (income and expenses for support), and the Appendix 30.0A Sworn Detailed Descriptive List plus 30.0C Joint Detailed Descriptive List (community property). Each court's use is set by court-specific appendices, and the East Baton Rouge Family Court publishes its own Forms A and H.
Which form, when
Support: Rule 23.0(a), the courts listed in Column I of Appendix 23.0A require filing, exchange or submission of an affidavit 'similar to an Appendix 23.0B Family Law Affidavit' (suggested Income and Expense Sheet = Section VIII), on court-specific deadlines; some districts list no requirement. Property partition: Rule 30.0, detailed descriptive lists are filed per La. R.S. 9:2801, and parties 'may use' Appendix 30.0A (or the joint 30.0C); court-specific rules in Appendix 30.0E (e.g. the 14th JDC requires conformity with 30.0A-30.0D).
Filed or exchanged
Varies by court per Appendix 23.0A (e.g. 1st JDC: filed 48 hours before trial and served; others exchange only); sworn detailed descriptive lists are filed under La. R.S. 9:2801 and Rule 30.0.

This is general information, not legal advice. Forms change, so check with the court before you file.
